Blauer Silvaner
Origin: unknownPedigree: At present it is still unclear whether the blue Silvaner is the original form of the Silvaner grapevine and whether the red and green Silvaners developed from it (albino forms). But the assumption is obvious.
Chardonnay
Origin: probably Burgundy, Francedescent: natural cross between Burgundy x Heunisch
Grauburgunder
Origin: probably FranceDescent: mutation of the variety Blue Burgundy. The Pinot Gris is also known as Pinot Gris or Ruländer.
Grüner Veltliner
Origin: probably Lower Austria / AustriaPedigree: Besides Traminer, the second parent variety was found in St. Georgen in Burgenland. This grape variety was named after the place where it was found in St. Georgen, because genetic tests did not allow to assign it to any known grape variety. The Grüner Veltliner is not related to the Roter and Frühroter Veltliner.
Kerner
Origin: "State Teaching and Research Institute for Viticulture and Fruit Growing" in Weinsberg / GermanyPedigree: The vine variety "Kerner" was created in 1929 by crossing red Trollinger and white Riesling.
Muskateller
Origin: The Muscat grape variety probably originates from the Mediterranean region. It is one of the oldest grape varieties in the world and was probably brought to Europe by Greeks and spread here by the Romans in the Empire.Tip: Dry Muscat wines are excellent with roasted poultry.
Müller-Thurgau
Origin: Research Institute Geisenheim / GermanyPedigree: New variety from Riesling & Chasselas de Courtillier. This grape variety was bred in 1882 by the Swiss botanist Hermann Müller from the canton of Thurgau in Geisenheim.
Riesling
Origin: Rhein area / GermanyPedigree: Natural cross between White Heunisch x Frankish variety (Traminer-Sämling). Red Riesling is a red-grape variety, a bud mutation from White Riesling. The White Riesling is not related to the Welschriesling .

Origin: probably Thermenregion, AustriaPedigree: Natural cross between Traminer & Roter Veltliner
Sauvignon
Origin: France, Loire ValleyPedigree: Sauvignon Blanc is a cross between Traminer and Chenin Blanc.
Silvaner
Origin: AustriaPedigree: Natural crossing of Traminer & Austrian White. Österreichisch Weiß is related to the grape variety Heunisch, which like Traminer is close to the wild vines.
Scheurebe
Origin: Germany, 1916, State Institute for Vine Breeding in AlzeyAncestry: The Scheurebe - a cross between the Riesling and the Bukettrebe - is almost as demanding as the Riesling in terms of location. It tolerates reasonably dry, poor soils, copes well with loess soils and with calcareous soils.
