Weingut Trautsamwieser Karin und Josef (Our wineries)
We’ve known the Trautsamwieser winery in Weißenkirchen, in the beautiful Wachau region of Lower Austria, for over 25 years. For us, a visit to Karin and Josef Trautsamwieser’s wine tavern is an absolute must whenever we’re in the Wachau, because as well as their excellent wines, Karin and her team simply serve the best platters in the Wachau! The spreads, in particular, are sensational.
And as luck would have it, we happened to be in the Wachau on a wine-buying trip in September 2021, just as the Wachau Wine Autumn was taking place. We simply had to seize the opportunity to taste the latest wines from the Trautsamwieser Winery. We also learnt that, having recently successfully completed her viticulture degree, daughter Birgit has been taking the reins in the vineyard and wine cellar alongside her father. And we believe that this breath of fresh air at the winery is further enhancing the quality of the already excellent wines. So it was only natural to include the wines from the Trautsamwieser Winery in our range.
