The Lagrein DOC from the Classic Collection of the Cantina Bolzano in South Tyrol is a wonderfully elegant, juicy, full-bodied Lagrein with well-structured tannins.

Despite its youth, this Lagrein is already remarkably balanced and round in taste. Here, one notices very well that the year 2020 has become an excellent vintage for Lagrein despite the hail damage to the vines in the previous year.

Growing area/Climate.
The grapes for this tasty Lagrein come exclusively from vineyards near Gries/Bolzano whose vines grow on the warm, sandy alluvial soils of the riverbanks. This is exactly the soil that provides the basis for an excellent Lagrein.

Processing
Traditional maceration, malolactic fermentation in steel barrels, short ageing in the bottle.

Colour: intense ruby red with violet reflections.
Smell: fruity of ripe cherries and blackberries, floral of violets, lilacs, typical cocoa note, spicy aromas.
Taste: powerful, well-structured tannins, elegant and juicy.
