The Lagrein from Gries - Baron Eyrl from the Collection series of the Cantina Bolzano in South Tyrol is powerful, elegant and full-bodied. The Lagrein from Gries flatters the palate with its elegance, its velvety tannins and the acidity typical of Lagrein.

The grapes of the "Collection" line come from sites selected by the cellar master. The vines grow in the heart of the Lagrein growing area and produce a dense, garnet-red and well-structured wine.

Growing area/Climate
The grapes for the Lagrein from Gries - Baron Eyrl come exclusively from Gries near Bolzano. They grow here at an altitude of 250 metres above sea level. The warm, loose, sandy alluvial soils that prevail here are the ideal basis for this top-class Lagrein.

Processing
After the traditional maceration in steel barrels, the young wine continues to mature in large oak barrels and then in the bottle.

Characteristics of the Lagrein DOC of the Bolzano Winery

Colour: intense, dark ruby red with violet reflections.
Smell: floral of violets and roses, fruity of dark berries, spicy and mineral, typical cocoa notes.
Taste: Elegant and round with velvety tannins and typical acidity.

This South Tyrolean Lagrein goes well with

grilled and roasted meat, game dishes and spicy hard cheeses.
