Geiger & Söhne Weissburgunder Erste Geige | dry | Franconian wine
Dry - juicy and harmonious - A Franconian Weissburgunder for hearty dishes
Pinot Blanc is indisputably one of the most popular wine varieties among German wine lovers. Also known by its Italian name Pinot Bianco or the French name Pinot Blanc, this noble white wine grape variety enjoys such great popularity mainly due to its refreshing aromas.
For this reason, we grow this wonderful grape variety at several locations of our winery Geiger und Söhne in Thüngersheim in Franconia, so that we can tease out the full range of aromatic subtleties depending on the condition of the sites and process them into distinctive white wines with different tastes.
The grapes for the specialty Geiger & Söhne Weissburgunder trocken from the Erste Geige category are hand-picked and carefully vinified in a double barrel.
Thanks to this 2400 l wooden barrel, the Weissburgunder undergoes a very special refinement during vinification. Thanks to this 2400 l wooden barrel, the Weissburgunder undergoes a very special refinement during vinification. This allows us to give a special touch to the white wine, which is otherwise known as unpretentious.
By aging in double barrels, we give the balanced aroma of mild fruit and gentle floral notes additional depth and make the Erste Geige Weissburgunder a special Franconian wine specialty. For this dry white wine surprises with a lush structure at 13.0% alcohol by volume and shows an unusually mature character for this grape variety. Convince yourself of this exceptionally aromatic interplay of elegant components that make this mild yet full-bodied Weissburgunder a white wine of unusual sophistication.
