First bred in 1921 near Würzburg as a cross between Silvaner and Riesling, the Rieslaner wonderfully combines not only the aromatic traits of its parent grape varieties, but also harbors its own unique attributes with unique potential. Primarily planted in its home region of Franconia, the Rieslaner knows how to make the best use of the nutrient-rich shell limestone soil to fully develop its aromatic palette.
