Brigl Merlot Riserva Vigna Windegg 2017 | Kaltern | Rotwein aus Südtirol
The Brigl Alto Adige Merlot Riserva DOP Vigna Windegg from the 2017 vintage is a smooth, velvety red wine with a high tannin content. Its aroma is slightly reminiscent of grass and wild wine, its taste is full-bodied and tart with aromas of wild cherry and currant.

VINIFICATIONS: Merlot
WINEYARD and SITUATION: Windegg Winery in Kaltern (400 m) with stony, warm clay soils.
VINIFICATION and MATURING: Fermentation in stainless steel vats for 8-10 days at controlled temperature (22-25°C). After the malolactic fermentation, the wine is matured in large oak barrels and a small part in barriques.
CHARACTERISTICS: Originally from France, Merlot is a slightly tart red wine with a garnet to dark garnet colour. Its smell is slightly reminiscent of grass and wild wine, its taste is full-bodied and tart with aromas of wild cherry and currant.
RECOMMENDATION: It is particularly suitable with game, wild fowl and piquant cheese.
